Homestead of Hope offers short to medium term, emergency accommodation to people in crisis situations. We accommodate clients in a Motel at market rates in the short term and work with other local organisations where possible for longer term needs where we can.
When we need to support clients for three to six months or longer without assistance from other Agencies, it puts a significant strain on our limited resources. We do all our own fundraising.
Recently, a seventy three year old gentleman from out of the area found out about us and asked our assistance. He found himself in the unfortunate position of having had the locks changed on him while he was out one day and he couldn’t get back into his unit. The only way he could think of to get by was to ‘train surf’ i.e., to sleep on trains for a few hours each night and walk around for the rest of the nights and the during the days. This was very dangerous for him!
To secure the funds to provide security for homeless and disadvantaged people and not turn anyone in a crisis away, we have launched our ‘Help Keep Poverty at Bay by Giving a Dollar a Day’ Initiative. The financial support we generate from this campaign will help secure funds to provide a warm, safe space for people in all kinds of crisis while we assist them to get back on their feet.
We need your help! If you can give a Dollar a Day for this worthwhile cause, please read the Form below, fill it in and submit it to us.
